Hey, great news for the customers who are using the iPhone 6 or planning to buy it in the future, as Apple, one of the most prominent technology firms, has announced for their new and upcoming iPhones that they have patented the curved touchscreen technology.

Apple has disclosed its patent details to the public about its new method, which includes a flexible substrate on which a conductive thin film is deposited so that at least one touch sensor pattern can be formed. The flexible substrate should be kept in a flat state. Per the embodiment, the method can support the flexible substrate in the balanced form on at least one curved forming substrate, performing an annealing process and having a predetermined curvature of the conductive thin film.

According to an embodiment, the first forming substrate with a first predetermined curvature is included in the curved forming substrate, and a second substrate with a double predetermined curvature complements the first predetermined curvature.

As per the sources, Apple has made this announcement to give competition to their competitors, such as Samsung and LG, as both companies have announced that in future, they will be using curved screen technology in their upcoming phones.

Apple’s patent does not address the actual touch screen but mainly addresses their production process. As per the experts, no unique benefits can be availed to the customers using such curved-screen phones.
