What is the difference between a Parked Domain and Addon Domain?

An addon domain can be used as a secondary (sub) domain and have files associated with it and a parked domain can only be used to redirect to a primary domain name. A parked domain cannot host active web site files – only email hosting can be configured for parked domains.
