I Would like to promote my website in many countries for that I would register domains using the correct extensions for each country. For example if I am targeting France use .fr and for Uk use .uk or will using a .com be OK?

The .com is a business extension and the first and most widely used you can be in anywhere in the world and register it with no problems.

.com means commercial, its based for all over the world.

.com is universal, but I think registering as many of the extensions as you can is also a smart move, as whatever they do search in, you’d have them covered

If it’s available in .com then you should get it, and try and get as many extensions as possible because you don’t want another company snapping it up before you manage to get it for your company..

I would like to know what does .CC stands for. Is it “Commercial” or something else. I am not sure about this.

.cc is ccTLD of Cocos (Keeling) Islands

In most place it is used as Commercial.

I try to use only this, even if that means having more to work to get a good domain name.

my website in spanish language so my questions is would a domain such be .es or .com ? I personally think that it would be better to target the real audience through the ccTLD for better performance, what are your opinions?

A .com should be for english sites only in my opion and other launage sites should use their domain extensions thus making it easier to browse the internet. Although this is not allways the case as some none other launages are on .com sites

I think an .es in Spain values much more than a .com .

If u have a domain registred with .com extension and content in spanish,you dont find good results, because the same name, registred with .es , took all the traffic.

I think it does not need to exist because sites ended with .com,.net or .info can be optimized to appear properly on mobile phones or devices without the use of another ext.

It does not sound professional and I wouldn’t use it no matter how cheap I could get a .mobi domain!

It will take some time for it to become popular with the general public. Its aimed at mobile phone users so I wonder how many of them actually surf the net on their mobiles? If the numbers are large enough it could be a worthy investment.

.mobi or .com …site has to be optimised for the appereance of mobile. I personally think .mobi aint that good as domain.

It depends on how wisely you invest (a little on luck too). I think joining few domain forums and asking tips from other members will be a good start. Also read few articles on domain trading. You can finds hundreds by searching on google.

It’s definately a profitable business, the main problem is you need to really put a lot of time and effort into learning about domains in general.

I registered an expired domain name and developed it but now it shows wrong PR but I dont have any redirect? How come this is possible or if it is possible then how can I disable it? Thanks

Try checking yourdomain.com Because the PR changes if the site has or not www.

At present i m looking to register a two word domain name. I found a two word domain name that I really liked and could only get one of the following extension/word combinations.

It is straight .info or .us worth more than a .com with a hyphen in it.

Choose onetwo.info. As far as I know SE don’t like hyphen. It can cause some issues later indexing the site.
