What domain extension do you think is going to make the biggest gains in the next few years?

I think .info might gain a lot.

.info will rise once all.

i think .com wil become very valuable in a few years.

.com, .org, .net… their the only ones that people would wanna buy.

How much Pagre Rank is important while buying or selling a name? Do you consider it.

Usually PR is a good indicator of how well its ranked in search engines, the higher the pr the higher the rankings.

PR is one of the most important considerations when buying an existing domain. Since Google takes so long to update, even the best SEO work can’t get a new site a high rank quickly. An established site usually comes with a decent PR. Just check the prices at some of the popular domain forums to see how much PR is valued.

Page ranking is somewhat important to me but is not the be all and end all of domain purchasing. If there is a high quality domain like music.com that has little to no PR it doesn’t matter very much because it would be so easy to develop.

PR is highly valued, as it sometimes can be hard to get.so watch out for PR domains that are expiring.

I have a great domain name in mind but it is already taken. Now .org or .info or some other extension is available. plz. suggest me Would I take that or not ?

It depends on what the name is your domain

i always go for .com then any other extensions.

Well, depends what u will be doing with the domain, developing or selling, or if you are selling services etc from a site then go with .biz

try to look out for alternatives ending with .com but not go with other extensions.

if .com is not available then try .info then .biz and then .org

A lot of domain appraisals are being done on a lot of forums, and I’m just wondering how people do this? I mean, what are your criteria, and how do you convert that to $?

PR rating, traffic and revenue are most important things

I just take the TLD, development potential, length, brandability, backlinks, PR, Link popularity etc into consideration.

domain appraisal is best way to judge the price of domain, by the rules of appraisal i think its fair way to check the worth of any domain easily.

brandability and keyword related domains using overture & digitalpoint’s wordtracker. I am also considering the number of competitions for the primary keyword

Have u developed any of your .be name so far? I haven’t and probably will not.

I parked all my .be domains @ sedo and luckily few of them are getting type-in traffic & earning me revenue.

I haven’t developed my .be domains either, since I’m not planning to renew them next year anyway. I’d rather develop my other domains which I can renew for not a high price such as .be.

I dont have time to develop them coz they dont have any commercial value.

many ppls told me .be is free, and its registration is also free, but i tried to register many times, its not free, its paid one.

Does anyone know about .it domains. Is there any restriction on regestration of .it names?

there is one restrictino in .it domains that no one can get 2 char or 2 letter domains.

When you register domains, do you buy whois guard/protection as well?

Its not worth paying for them,most registrars will give out protected information quickly,even with a simple letter requesting it.

Some registrars offer it for free, and when there is such a promo, I take advantage of it. But otherwise, I don’t really bother to pay extra for this service. I know my address and email are open for public viewing (and spam), but I am too stingy to pay for it.

I dont use it whether it is paid or free. It just minimize the chances to get few offers via email or phone.

i dont buy whois guard and protection, its only for wasting money.

It must be short & brandable and keyword rich.

shortest of word, use logical word in domain which really ppls knows in majority.

i like three or four digit domains.

A domain name must be short and must be in six alphabets.

You need a domain names that is easily remember by your users.

Use something catchy, and try not to add dashes in it because those tend to be harder to remember

I think a good domain name isn’t too terribly long. That way it is easy for people to remember.
