Similarly to make things work properly in the web world we have Domain Names to identify the location of various web pages or the servers which are hosting websites. Thus a Domain Name gives you or your organization an online Identity by identifying your website as a simple string of words and numeric that can be memorized easily.

In recent years unique and active number of Domain Names has seen an exponential rise and it has been said to cross the mark of 196 million! These domain names are administered by domain registrars and adult domains are  Adult domain name by adult domain registrars. 7. Try to choose plural form whenever particular domain name is not unavailable, Let us say orange.com is not available but may be you get oranges.com. Such a temptation should be resisted as people at times when forget typing “s” which might shift them to your competitor’s website.
  8. A very important part of the domain name is its TLD (Top Level Domain). It is at your discretion to use whichever suffix you want like .com, .net, .org etc. There are country specific TLD available too. (Like .ca for Canada, .fr for France). It is the nature of your business or service that you provide, which should be the guiding factor about which TLD to choose. For a country specific website a country specific TLD would be good, for international approach best to choose .com or .net.
  9. Any domain name that might be a copyright infringement of any other company’s name.
  10. While registering a domain name it should be done for at least 2 years. This shows to Google that you are serious and helps in improving your rankings.

UK Adult Hosting Sites: Banks May Soon Deny Processing Payments

UK Adult Hosting Sites

UK Adult Hosting Sites

We’ve talked about the UK porn filter before. In case you missed it, you can check out that article *here*.

So let’s raise an important point, which I believe has been raised here on the blog before, which I was thinking about with the recent news of a new form of punishment for adult hosting sites.

UK Adult Hosting Sites: Banks To Punish Adult Hosting Sites?

Before we get to that important point, let’s look at the problem. After instituting country-wide porn filters that block adult hosting sites (which, thankfully, households have the option to opt-in on explicit content if they so choose), the government wants to give banks the authority to deny processing payments to any adult hosting sites that publish legal content but do nothing to prevent children from accessing that content.

Essentially, if you aren’t following the rules, you aren’t getting paid. A summit will take place some time this month in order to agree on a plan. If no agreement is voluntarily reached, the government is prepared to step in and create legislation and force the matter.

Certain websites don’t perform any age verification check, unlike others that can’t be accessed unless a users age is verified. The Authority for Television on Demand (Atvod) exists to monitor websites in the UK that host video content, and is leading the charge against non-compliant sites.

UK Adult Hosting Sites: In The Cross-hairs

Playboy was one of the first to be punished, according to the Telegraph, and there have been others. Apparently, Playboy offers video content that minors can access with no trouble whatsoever (UK Adult Hosting Sites).

But is it okay to target all of these seemingly non-compliant sites? Since it is not okay to flat-out block free adult sites (it’s absolutely legal for those over 18 to view the content), it seems some recourse must be taken to assure sites are performing accurate age verification procedures.

UK Adult Hosting Sites: Free Isn’t Necessarily Free

What happens is these sites attract users in with free videos. From there, they can sell a premium service, enticing users to pay for better, longer lasting videos and other add-on services.

If there is no age verification process for the free service (it stands to reason that someone under 18 does not have access to a credit card, so they’ll not be able to upgrade), why should that non-compliant company receive payment? This is the view of the UK government: if you aren’t going to play by the rules, you aren’t going to get any money.

UK Adult Hosting Sites: The Future?

It seems banks and credit card companies are on board with this idea, and soon, the UK Cards Association, the Payments Council, the British Bankers Association, and the top credit card companies will meet at a summit to discuss this idea.

How far is Cameron prepared to take this (UK Adult Hosting Sites)? Should all of this content be blocked, and adult hosting websites be punished for publishing legal content by financial institutions? That’s kind of the beauty of the Internet: you can find just about anything. While I agree that children shouldn’t have access to pornography, isn’t that the role of the parent, to assure their children aren’t seeing things they shouldn’t?

More importantly, who’s deciding which content is appropriate and which content is not? It is subjective, so it seems to me there is a lot of work involved with the implementation of this proposed law.

Do you run an adult hosting sites? What are your thoughts on this topic?

How to Find An Adult Hosting Niche

Adult Hosting

Adult Hosting Niche

You are starting an adult hosting site. But what would be most profitable? Should you start a “one-site-fits-all” website, or should you narrow your focus to a specific Adult Hosting Niche?

If you’re planning on making any money off of your website, you should definitely consider a Adult Hosting Niche . There are many niches in the adult hosting world to choose from (girl-next-door, gay, transgender, etc.), and the key to making money is setting yourself apart from the competition. There are already plenty of sites that offer it all, and this makes it difficult to get your site noticed.

A Word About Choosing A  Adult Hosting Niche

First, come up with a list of Adult Hosting  niche . Go through that list and see what interests you most. The more interested you are in the content, the more valuable users will find that content. You wouldn’t do well playing against Tiger Woods if you’ve never golfed, would you? It’s the same with your website: it can’t be successful if you don’t have an interest in it.

You also want to provide content for your site that is totally legal. Be sure you can show proof of model ages if this is applicable. You can’t run a successful adult hosting site in jail!

Find An Adult Hosting Provider

This is important: some hosting companies won’t touch adult content with a 50-foot pole. Some hosting providers we’ve reviewed, such as Hostgator and Arvixe, do provide adult hosting services. Be sure you understand what is allowed and what isn’t prior to signing a contract with any of them!

Adult Hosting Niche – Get Your Name Out There

Once your site is created, it’s time to advertise! Sign up with an affiliate marketing program for starters. This can be a great way to earn money without doing anything at all! Find some paid subscription sites to partner with, and provide links to those sites throughout your web pages. When someone clicks and purchases a membership at that site, you make a commission!

Adult Hosting Niche: Offer Membership Options

Some sites offer certain content for free, with the rest available after purchasing a membership. You can offer all of your content for free if you’d like, lacing it with advertising, enticing people to pay for a membership to enjoy advertisement-free content if you’d like. Or, you can offer “VIP membership,” with exclusive content available to members only.

Adult Hosting Niche: Above All, Content Is King

No matter how you intend to monetize the site, if the content isn’t good no one will want to enjoy it for free, let alone pay money to subscribe. Be sure your content is fresh and original, legal, and keeps visitors coming back for more.

Why SSL certificates are required

About SSL (Secure sockets layer)

SSL certificate is installed on a website, which makes you feel safe and secure for the information enter by you because it is only access by the organization that owns the website. SSL certificates are provided by Certificate Authorities (CAs) and the use of this certificate is required by web server, so that SSL protocol can be used in an effective way.

Benefits of SSL certificates

Whenever we transfer the important information across the internet, it is passed away from one computer to another to reach its final destination, then there are chances of information being hacked by the hackers or other users if any computer in between you and the server can see the important information like your bank account no. or your credit card no. which affect the safety of confidential information. We want the required information or message to be delivered to the correct receipent, so that information won’t be misused by anyone and for this SSL certificates are required because when this certificate is used, then information becomes unreadable to everyone except for the server to which you are sending the information. SSL Certificates also protects it from hackers and identity thieves.

SSL certificate also provides authentication which means that you are sending the information to the right server and not to any criminal’s server. This is important because information is passing through several computers and in between if any of these computers could act as if your website and trap your users into sending them their personal information, then to avoid this, you have to use a proper Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and getting an SSL Certificate from a trusted SSL provider.

When you are having your e-commerce website then it is necessary that your customers will trust your site and for this you have to put some clues on your Web browsers such as a lock icon or a green bar, which makes your customers feel safe that their connection is secured and they will buy from you more. SSL certificate providers will give you these clues and trust seal that built more trust in your customers.

When you want to take credit card information on your website, then you need to pass certain audits such as PCI compliance which require you to have a proper SSL certificate.

Another benefit of having SSL certificate is that it allows you to safe your username and password from attackers or hackers, especially when you have the same login id or username and password for many websites, then it is very unsafe to protect all your information, residing in the e-mails or in the attachments. Thus SSL certificates are required, when you enter a username and password to login to your site, because in this case, an attacker cannot easily see your username and password in clear text. This would allow someone else to impersonate your visitor, but it allows for a far more dangerous possibility.

  • Another benefit of SSL certificates is that it will make the login forms invulnerable, safe and secure, otherwise most login forms don’t currently use SSL and thus they are vulnerable.
  • SSL Certificates allows you to do your business online without worrying about the security and confidentiality of your customers’ personal details.
  • These certificates also allow you to gain an edge over your competitors by protecting your site from invulnerable attackers.
  • SSL Certificate legitimizes your website and server, thus the visitors of your site will trust you more.
  • For all the types of purposes, an SSL Certificate makes your visitors sure that your website is a serious, genuine intent conducting an online business and thus by this it increases the response of your visitors to your site which contribute in higher sales.

Difference between SSL certificate and CA certificate

[T2 file=”/home/zlivecas/1800ssl.com/tables/user-functions.php”]

Difference between SSL certificate and CA certificate

About SSL Certificate

Now as to enable SSL on a websites’ Certificate is required by you who identifies you and install it on the server. Padlock icon in web browsers and a green address bar usually indicates the use of an SSL certificate on a website and when SSL certificate is installed on a website, then it makes you feel safe and secure for the information enter by you because it is only access by the organization that owns the website. SSL certificates are provided by Certificate Authorities (CAs) and the use of this certificate is required by web server, so that SSL protocol can be used in an effective way.

What is a certificate authority (CA)?

Digital certificates are issued by the certificate authority which is a unit/body to the organizations or people after validating them. Certification authorities always keep the information which is used to issue the records and the details of the records which has been issued, and are audited on a daily basis to make sure that they are following clear and definite procedures. Certification Practice Statement (CPS) defines the procedures that will be used to confirm applications and are provided by every certification authority. There are many commercial institutions that charge for their services and governments may have their own CAs, and there are also free Certificate Authorities.

Here is the difference between SSL certificate and CA certificate

Self-signed certificate or SSL Certificate means the certificate which was signed by its owner. Self-signed certificates generally utilized for testing local servers. When the web site certificate is self-signed then the internet browser will show a pop-up and these certificates are not signed by the Certificate authority. The data which moves or transfer between browser and server gets very less security by the Self-signed certificates and thus who has an unpleasant motive can prove very harmful for a server. But the SSL certificate has no connection with the identity of the person or organization. CA (Certificate authority) issues the certificate which will be considered as an authorized certificate. As we know that (SSL) Secure Socket Layer is used to encrypt the data between the web server and client’s browser so, when client go through the web site it shows the validity of website in address bar which boosts confidence of customer. The information which moves or transfer between browser and server is secure. The most common certified authorities are Symantec, Thawte, RapidSSL, GeoTrust etc.

  • SSL Certificate shows unauthenticated message in web address while certificate authority’s certificate shows authenticated message in the web address thus its users or customers find trusted seal in address bar.
  • Any power for execution is not allow by the Self-signed SSL certificate while signed certificate i.e. certificate authority certificate requires a certified authority for execution.
  • Self-signed SSL certificates are basically used for testing so there is no call for to pay for a signed certificate whereas the certificate authority’s certificate is surrounded with https:// and used for online purchasing of different items.
  • SSL certificates have very unsafe environment and due to this, customer are very afraid to deal with self-signed certificate and on the other hand, customer are not scared to deal with certificate authority’s certificate as they done transactions online with signed certificate and also gain self assurance.
  • Self-signed SSL certificate does not attract customers because they fail in E-commerce i.e. in conducting business online whereas the Signed certificate may attract the customers due to its genuine.
  • SSL certificates don’t cost anything i.e. they are free of cost and on the other hand, signed certificate usually charge from $10 to $1000 per year.
  • Self-signed certificate is easy to organize while signed certificate need to follow a process of deployment.
  • Private Key is shared between third party and end user in self-signed SSL certificate whereas in signed certificate private key is not shared with anyone; it is always kept with end user.

After looking at the above differences, If we have to decide that which one is better, then it is better to deal with signed certificate i.e. certificate authority’s certificate because customer satisfaction is the first goal of every organization and to satisfy them is the first and most important thing and if he is not satisfied with your website than there is no requirement to gain such certificate.

Difference between shared SSL and private SSL

About SSL (Secure sockets layer)

The full form of SSL is Secure Sockets Layer. When SSL move from your computer to your hosting server, then it encrypts the data. In other words, SSL encrypts information as it is transferred across the Internet. SSL is basically used to protect the information which goes through it into the computer and entered on the website. It provides safety to your confidential information like credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, or any other information entered into a web site. SSL makes you and your clients feel safe, by activating the secure lock in the web browser. Free and shared SSL certificates are automatically included in some shared and reseller packages of SSL by which data can be protect by you as it is being accessed over the Internet. With this another option is of buying a private SSL certificate which is connected with your own domain name.

About Shared SSL

The advantages of shared SSL can be received by you with shared SSL with charging any price i.e. free of cost which is usually related with setting up of the SSL server. Your web hosting company’s SSL certificate can also be used by you with the help of the shared SSL and with this benefit it provide you another benefit also that it allows you to get a secure URL(Uniform Resource locator) like https://secure.yourhost.tld/~username.

About Private SSL

One of the most important benefits of purchasing the Private SSL is that it allows you to have a dedicated I.P.(Internet protocol) address and buy your own SSL certificate which can be run on the SSL server. Private SSL also allows you get a secure URL like https://secure.yourname.com/ .But your web hosting companies name is not included in the URL with private SSL. With the benefits, Private SSL is having one disadvantage also that it requires you to purchase an SSL certificate and have a dedicated I.P. address and due to this it is very expensive.

What are the differences between shared SSL and private SSL?

The shared SSL is used by all the clients by install globally on the server. Shared SSL will always show a pop-up warning when used because its certificate is configured to work with Site Ground server’s name and its certificate is also self-signed.

On the other hand, trusted authority issues the Private SSL especially for your domain. Private SSL is recommended by the Site ground Browsers for the profitable projects and it can also bear out the private SSL and will show a secure icon.

HostGator domain is used by shared SSL users instead of your own domain name. When you are using the shared certificate, then there are no browser warnings if you use the secure server name for your account instead of your domain name. If you want to have a secure connection to the server which is not typically seen by the general public then the shared SSL certificate is a right option as it is proposed to be used in situations where you need them. For example, when taking down into the administration area of your website. The disadvantage of shared SSL is that it allows your customers to see your domain in the URL and thus it is not recommended for e-commerce sites. Next demerit of using Shared SSL is that if you make effort to use your domain name with the shared certificate, then it does not provide you any guarantee to work.

On the other hand, private SSL uses your own domain name and will not give you any warning messages. Private SSL is mainly proposed for situations where the general public wants the right to use your site securely and in a safe manner. If you want to protect the credit card information for e-commerce websites, then private SSL is more preferred as your customers will see your domain name in the URL instead of HostGator’s, which makes them feel more comfortable and secure while submitting their data.

  • Private SSL gives you the assurance of protection through VeriSign, GeoTrust, Thawte and RapidSSL whereas the Shared SSL does not give you the assurance of protection and it is provided by the hosting provider.
  • Private SSL also allows you to displays the owner of the SSL certificate whereas the shared SSL displays Equifax Certificate Authority as the owner
  • Private SSL also display the common or universal name of the SSL owner and on the other hand, shared SSL displays *.securesitehosting.net
  • Private SSL provides higher level of encryption whereas lowest level of encryption is provided by shared SSL.
  • Private SSL particularly uses your domain and avoids warning messages whereas the shared SSL causes warning messages to be displayed.
  • Private SSL is confidentially register to your domain name and on the other hand, shared SSL Is shared among different users on your shared hosting platform
  • Private SSL may provide you a free security seal and shared SSL does not provide you a security seal.
